# Create a reusable document template with visible optional sections

Specify required and conditional sections without allowing default invented facts.

Use the supplied source as authority. Check the account supports the actual file or image operation before attempting it.

## Task instruction

Create an editable project-update template for [audience].
Required: project title, as-of date, current status and source-linked facts.
Conditional: budget only when a supplied cost exists; decision request
only when a real decision and decision owner are supplied.
Use labelled placeholders in the blank template, not realistic invented
values. In the filled example, preserve unknowns and source qualifications.
Return the blank template, a filled example and a section-rule list.

## Source boundaries

- Title/status/source required
- Budget only if supplied
- Decision only if requested

## Review and correction

A default 'On track' or £5,000 can become a false fact. Use visible placeholders and explicit inclusion rules.

The source contains no budget, but the example added £5,000.
Remove that invented amount. Change the template instructions so the
budget section appears only for an explicitly supplied cost and basis.
Check a source with a cost and one without it. Return the revised blank
template, both filled behaviours and the changed section rule.

Use references/practice-source.json for the labelled example. The practice HTML is a local teaching tool; it does not call an AI service. Apply this method to the user's supplied facts rather than copying fictional example values. Do not infer approval or permission to publish.
